We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have secured planning permission for 248 new homes at Merrington Lane, Spennymoor, in partnership with Homes England.
This is a significant step for us, marking our first residential site in the North East, and we're proud to be transforming the vacant brownfield site, formerly the Electrolux Factory, into a vibrant new community.
The development will deliver a mix of two, three, four, and five-bedroom dwellings, designed to support local families and opportunities for first-time buyers.
Our Planning Director, Claire Linley, says: “Securing planning permission for 248 much-needed family homes at Merrington Lane in Spennymoor is a major step forward in our partnership with Homes England. This milestone paves the way for us to deliver high-quality homes that will meet local housing needs and help create a vibrant new community.”
Simon Herring, Development Director at Homes England, added: “As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, one of our key objectives is transforming brownfield sites into much-needed new homes for communities across England. This site in Merrington Lane, Spennymoor exemplifies this.
“We’re working alongside Strata to deliver 248 high-quality homes and new open spaces for residents to enjoy, turning vacant and disused land into a thriving new community.”
